Announcing the Carbon Tax Center

The Carbon Tax Center (CTC) was launched in New York City last week. Its mission is to advocate for those who believe that taxing CO2 emissions is important to stabilizing the effects of global warming.

Specifically, the group aims to educate policymakers, opinion leaders, and the public about the benefits of carbon tax emissions from fossil fuels. CTC believes a carbon tax system would be stronger than a cap-and-trade system because of its "predictability, immediacy, transparency, universality, and equity."

The Carbon Tax Center was co-founded by
Charles Komanoff and Daniel Rosenblum.
