Lowe's gets EPA energy efficiency award

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that the home improvement retail giant, Lowe's Cos. Inc., is the winner of its 2007 Excellence in Energy Star Promotion Award. The award recognizes the company's contributions to cutting global warming pollution by marketing and promoting energy-efficient products and services.

Lowe's was recognized in part for a month-long program called "Save Energy, Save Money," and for offering in-store energy-saving tips, how-to clinics, and demonstrations of Energy Star appliances and products.

This is the 5th consecutive year that Lowe's has been recognized for its work championing energy efficiency and consumer education.
