The Udall-Platts amendment (H.R. 969), sponsored by Representatives Tom Udall (D-NM) and Todd Platts (R-PA), would create a national renewable energy standard requiring utilities to generate or buy 20 percent clean, renewable energy by 2020. A vote in the House is expected today. Tell your House member to support this important piece of legislation. More than 20 states have enacted similar policies; it's time for national leadership as well.
