Terminology Tuesday: Biomass

You may hear the term "biomass" a lot in reference to renewable energy, especially if you live in the Midwest.

Biomass is simply plant or animal matter - typically agricultural or forestry waste when we're talking about energy.

Biomass is converted into energy like heat, electricity, or liquid fuels for transportation.
