Terminology Tuesday: Greenwashing

Greenwashing is the allegation that someone or something (like a company) is making exaggerated or misleading claims about its environmental initiatives, the greenness of its products, energy use, services, or technology. It makes the company appear more environmentally friendly than it truly is.

Speaking of this, Wood Turner of Climate Counts writes on the Huffington Post about companies claiming to sell green gadgets...and whether throwing away old gadgets in favor of "greener" ones really helps the planet at all.
