Nine Lives Later, PTC Passes Senate

On the ninth attempt this year, the Senate has finally passed the production tax credit (PTC) for renewable energy sources by a vote of 93-2. The only two voting against the extensions were Senators Crapo (R-ID) and Kyle (R-AZ).

The PTC extends tax credits for wind energy by one year, two years for geothermal, wave, biomass and small hydropower, and eight years for solar and fuel cell energies.
The House could vote on the bill as early as today.
