Hat tip to colleague Bill Brozak for this interesting find:
WePlayGreen.org is a group started by Chris Dickerson from the Cincinnati Reds and Jack Cassel from the Cleveland Indians to promote how professional athletes live green and inspire fans to do the same. Athletes from any professional sport can join (see the list here) and many of the testimonials talk about the basics, like recycling.
But they don't just play it safe with easy issues like recycling, they actually have opinions, like limiting the amount of plastics used during sports seasons and this Tweet from Friday: "Bioplastics is really just replacing one problem for another and doesn't address what is wrong with our throw-away culture."
Check them out.
